Blue Chicago One Of The Finest Blues Clubs in Chicago….

Last August 2010, I decided to fly across country and visit Chicago otherwise known as the “Windy City”. Being an avid baseball and blues music fan, I was literally spoiled with good old American Tradition, baseball and blues. In my 5 day stay in the Windy City, I ventured through the hustle and bustle of downtown Chicago, taking in the sites during the day and humming to the sweet old Chicago blues by night. One of the clubs that stood out before me during my stay was Blue Chicago. The atmosphere and club’s internal setting put me back 60 years as it felt like if I were to look out the front window, I just might see a few old 1950’s Chrysler Newports parked outside. The Blue Chicago club is very small and compact to give you that warmth feeling while listening to the blues music. Let’s face it, the music is the reason why this club is one of the most popular blues venue in Chicago. Plus, how can you go wrong when you are only a few blocks away from Michigan Avenue, the main drag of downtown Chicago. There are many eateries outside and nearby Blue Chicago, as this club does not serve any food only drinks. Here is a small video sample of the layout of Blue Chicago Club.

Now, on this night which happened to be a Saturday night, Blue Chicago was packed with tourists from all over the world. During one of the breaks, Big Time Sarah and her band asked the patrons where they had traveled from. A few were from Russia, Brazil, Argentina, and India, which depicts how far Blues music has traveled in the music world. Big Time Sarah and her band were fabulous on this evening, in fact I got a sample video of their opening jam prior to Big Time Sarah taking the stage. This performance not only sold me to revisit the Club the very next evening (Sunday). The wonderful jams and blues music left me hungry to purchase a CD titled “Mojo Mama’s” from the club to help support the daily club operations. The CD is a MUST for anyone who visits Blue Chicago, and I carry their tradition while spinning their tunes during my DJ shows. If anyone of you wish to hear a few tunes from the CD titled “Mojo Mama’s” check out my weekly DJ schedule and tune into one of my shows, you will definitely be pleased with the tunes. If you want to visit Blue Chicago, I advise you to check out the club’s website, Blue Chicago. Here is the video I had promised, You got to make a trip to the Windy City as you will never be the same again.
